 Todd Swift grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he spent most
of his childhood in the back room of his parent's Native American
Art Gallery watching the Navajo silversmiths at work. This is where
his love of silversmithing began. In particular, he spent time with
silversmith, Esther Wood where he learned to solder, string necklaces
and make silver hooks and eyes at the young age of 10 years old.
Todd
moved out to California at the age of 19 and started working for
Taos Indian Trading Co. where he did jewelry repair and custom
orders and later became a partner in the business.
Today
Todd enjoys making one of a kind pieces in silver and gold using
precious and semi-precious stones. He also does jewelry repair.
He has provided artifacts and jewelry, or designed custom jewelry
for movies such as Contact, Aliens, Windtalkers, Lonesome Dove,
Return to Lonesome Dove, Brave, Dances With Wolves and Get Shorty. |
